The touchscreen keypad is easy to install and simple to program with a user-friendly interface packaged in a low-profile white case that easily blends into any décor.

The keypad has been designed with the user and installer in mind. For the user, menu driven, intuitive screens with large buttons make programming very easy to configure desired options. For example, to access the Fire, Medical, Panic keys, users just press the EMERGENCY button on the sidebar. LED status lights on the bottom of the frame provide a quick visual check on the security system. Programming of labels is made simple through the ‘QWERTY’ keypad. The installer will also have the ability to do installer programming from virtual keypad, as well directly through the keypad.

Building from the default or optional displays, the installer can quickly configure five of the graphical icons from over 10 options, depending on the user’s needs. With up to 32 partitions available, the keypad offers the benefits of a multi-partition control panel without changing the control panel and lets each partition zone act independently from the rest of the system.

The display can be easily customized for the user. For example if the user doesn’t want to see partitions but wants to turn the chimes on and off, simply hide/display the appropriate icons. The clutter-free home screen can be easily modified later by the installer through password-protected setting menus.

The background of the home screen can be easily customized by the installer to display company logos, contact information, pictures, etc. The integrated digital picture frame gives homeowners the flexibility to display photos as a single photo or a timed slideshow or default background screen. Just insert an updated standard SD card into the SD slot and follow the onscreen prompts, similar to other “off-the-shelf” digital picture frames.

GeoArm Expands With Resideo’s Innovative LTEM-P Alarm Communicator

Introducing the all new dual-path alarm communicator that supports either AT&T or Verizon Cellular LTE, Ethernet or optional Wi-Fi/Z-Wave automation control by Resideo Technologies, Inc.

GeoArm, a fast-growing, do-it-yourself brand in smart home and business security, announced today the release of the all-new Resideo LTEM-P dual-path alarm communicators.

Together, GeoArm and Resideo (formerly “Honeywell Home”) are adding more alternative technologies for switching away from the traditional overpriced alarm company. With universal compatibility, the do-it-yourselfer can easily add the newly released LTEM-P communicator into most existing security systems. Whether a consumer has a DSC PowerSeries, Honeywell Home VISTA-Series, GE Interlogix NetworX NX-Series, or other burglary intrusion control panel that supports Contact ID, this brand new Resideo communicator is a great choice for low-cost, nationwide, central station alarm monitoring services provided by GeoArm.

“We are excited to offer the new Resideo product line of LTEM-P universal communicators into our brand’s portfolio of products and services that our customers have to choose from in advance of the cellular radio sunset dates set to take place in the first quarter of 2022,” said Steve Rosenthal, General Manager of GeoArm. With the impending sunset of the cellular 3G/4G AT&T network taking effect in the month of February 2022, and the cellular 3G/4G Verizon network slated to shutdown sometime later in 2022, it was important for users to find a low-priced, cellular 5G LTE radio that offered maximum network longevity.

With an LTE Cat M1 cellular alarm communicator built into the module for use over either the AT&T or Verizon 4G/5G network, this radio was constructed for the strongest signal penetration in the most challenging of installation environments. “Because the Resideo LTEM-P comes with its own plug-in power supply and doesn’t require power directly from the panel, it is easy to install in just minutes,” said Drew Davis, Operations Manager of GeoArm. The equipment was made by Resideo for a DIY-friendly installation and only requires a screwdriver in order to land just two wires on the takeover circuit board’s dialer, keybus or ECP connector.

Having an advanced modular design, the LTEM-P was engineered to be compatible with future control panels and cellular services that have still yet to come. For customers wanting Wi-Fi and/or Z-Wave automation control, they can add the PROWIFIZW communications module at any time. Resideo offers secure web-based services that enable users to remotely monitor and control the VISTA-Series hardwired security systems. These web services enable users to monitor and control the security system using their Android or iOS smartphone, receive email notifications of system events, and receive event confirmations using the Total Connect 2.0 interactive monitoring app.

GeoArm and M2M Team Up for Low-Cost Alarm Monitoring for Customers

GeoArm and M2M partner for discount PRO and DIY alarm monitoring services.

GeoArm, a leading provider of no-term contract security, automation and smart home solutions serving residential and business customers in the United States, today announced the addition of M2M products and services to its website offerings.

Together, GeoArm and M2M are paving the path to switch away from the traditional overpriced alarm company. With universal compatibility, the do-it-yourselfer can easily add the M2M alarm communicator into most commercial fire alarm and burglary intrusion panels already installed in existing homes and businesses. Whether a consumer has a DSC PowerSeries, Honeywell Home VISTA-Series, GE Interlogix NetworX NX-Series or other takeover control panel that supports Contact ID, SIA and Pulse 4+2, the M2M line of alarm communicators are a great choice for low-cost nationwide alarm monitoring.

“We are thrilled to add M2M solutions into our brand’s portfolio of products and services that our customers have to choose from in advance of the cellular radio sunset dates set to take place in the first quarter of 2022,” said Joe Rosenthal, President and CEO of GeoArm. With the impending sunset of cellular 3G/4G AT&T network beginning first in the month of February 2022, and the cellular 3G/4G Verizon network slated to shutdown later next year in Dec. 31, 2022, it was important for users to find a low-priced, future proof, cellular 5G LTE module that offered maximum network longevity.

The M2M product line of alarm communicators can be installed in a matter of minutes by simply landing just two-wires on the circuit board and anyone can do it. “Because these alarm communicators are low-voltage and run off the control panel’s battery, there is absolutely no need to hire an expensive professional to get them hooked up,” said Rafael Alvarez, Technical Manager of GeoArm. Just sit back and watch the appropriate how to installation video found on GeoArm’s YouTube page, that illustrates the steps to follow that will make the M2M communicator setup a breeze.

Best of all the M2M’s RControl app gives GeoArm customers the ability to interact with their compatible burglar intrusion panel for no additional monthly charge. The end user can remotely download the RControl app on any Android or iOS device to arm/disarm the security system in “away mode” when they are not home during the day, and also have the ability to arm it in “stay mode” when they are home at night. The app allows for real-time push and email notifications for multiple end users and devices per account so that all family members and business managers are on guard. Also, there is an admin portal that allows for 24/7 device management and real-time status monitoring of all accounts with 12 months of event history stored for use at a later time. To ensure the M2M communicator works when it matters most, the modules are designed with supervised connectivity that includes polling in 10 minute intervals for exceptional reliability.

Once installed into an existing compatible alarm system, the M2M communicator will transmit alarm systems data to either GeoArm’s central station and/or directly to the end user in the event of an alarm initiating event. With both do-it-yourself and professionally trained operator alarm monitoring services offered by GeoArm starting at $8 a month for burglary intrusion security systems, and $30 a month for commercial fire alarm systems, homes and businesses can finally lower that costly alarm bill and start enjoying the monthly savings.

Dual SRF: The IQ Panel 2 Plus QS9201-1208-840 simultaneously supports two radio security frequencies. Dual SRF featuring PowerG and 319.5 MHz (legacy Interlogix/S-Line) allows DIYer’s to retain installed sensors while adding and upgrading as needed with PowerG, the industry’s most robust sensor line to address common range and functionality demands. For instances when life safety devices are already installed, the IQ Panel 2 Plus will allow DIYer’s to retain these devices without incurring the cost, install time and maintenance of third party translators. Dual SRF featuring PowerG is designed to address the millions of legacy Interlogix systems installed while reducing costs associated with upgrading to the next generation security and IoT platforms.

PowerG: The IQ Panel 2 Plus includes PowerG, the revolutionary 2-way wireless communication technology with an unprecedented line-up of features designed to decrease operational costs for dealers while providing ultimate reliability for end users. Multichannel, Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum technology enables the system to hop between wireless frequency channels to ensure the seamless transmission of secure communications between the devices and the control panel. Adaptive Transmission Power translates into up to eight years of battery life for the system’s devices and peripherals, reducing battery-replacement incurred costs. High transmission ranges allow for devices to reliably communicate 4 times further than legacy wireless protocols, reducing the cost of installing additional repeaters to service larger premises. 128 bit AES encryption offers exceptionally high level of protection against analysis tools and digital attacks.

Front Camera: The IQ Panel comes with a built-in front camera that captures photos in a variety of situations. When the panel is disarmed manually, the camera takes a photograph and saves it in the “ARM/DISARM” section. These photos are accompanied by the username of the individual who’s code was used, the date, and the time. When someone attempts to access your panel settings with an invalid code, the camera takes a photograph and saves it in the “SETTINGS” section. These photos are accompanied by the date and time. When the alarm is triggered, the camera takes a photograph and saves it in the “ALARMS” section. When the alarm is triggered, the camera will record up to a 4 minute video clip. This video is stored locally on the panel only. Using a Micro SD Card you can select individual photos or videos and save them on it.

Light Control: You can add up to 80 Z-Wave lights, lamp modules, or lightbulbs to the IQ Panel 2 Plus panel. This will allow you to control your lights (e.g. turn on/off, adjust the dimmer) locally on the panel and also from your Alarm.com mobile app.

Lock Control: You can add up to 6 Z-Wave locks to the IQ Panel 2 Plus panel. This will allow you to control your locks (e.g. lock/unlock doors individually or all at once) locally on the panel and also from your Alarm.com mobile app.

Thermostat Control: You can add up to 6 thermostats to the IQ Panel 2 Plus panel. This will allow you to control the temperature (e.g. turn up, turn down or change mode) locally on the panel and also from your Alarm.com mobile app.

Garage Door: You can add up to 10 Z-Wave overhead garage door controllers to the IQ Panel 2 Plus panel. This will allow you to control the garage door (e.g. open/close it) locally on the panel and also from your Alarm.com mobile app.

Live View: Streaming live camera feeds on the IQ Panel 2 Plus is a Qolsys exclusive in the Alarm.com ecosystem. “Live View” allows supported Alarm.com indoor and outdoor WiFi cameras to be viewed on the IQ Panel 2 Plus 7″ HD resolution touchscreen. With a wide range of available Alarm.com video devices, DIYer’s can become even more connected to their smart homes or businesses. The supported Alarm.com smart security cameras include: ADC-V515, ADC-V523, ADC-V622-WELL, ADC-V723, ADC-V821, ADC-VC726, ADC-VC736, ADC-VC826 and ADC-VC836.

Live Answer: An industry first, “Live Answer” streams the supported Skybell or Alarm.com Video Doorbell direct to the IQ Panel 2 Plus high-definition touchscreen. This innovative feature replicates the mobile app experience enabling users to answer the video doorbell, remote door lock/unlock, while continuing to provide doorbell call and motion notifications sent to your smart device. The supported Alarm.com video doorbell cameras include: ADC-VDB101, ADC-VDB102, ADC-VDB105, ADC-VDB106 and ADC-VDB770.

Install Wizard: The Install Wizard included in the 2.2 software streamlines installation by taking an installer step-by-step through set up ensuring key functions and features are properly configured. The already fast and intuitive installation process is made even easier ensuring every install is consistent and follows best practices, resulting in a better install experience and reduced installation times and long-term support. The new user-friendly wizard will also further simplify DIY self-installations.

Partitions: The panel allows for up to 4 partitions to be programmed. Partitions allow for the creation of zone groups in a home or business so that users can arm some sections of the property while leaving others disarmed. Partitioning enables greater personalization and functionality while simplifying installation. Each partition controls its local zone status, alerts and notifications. Any area or zone that needs to be armed or disarmed separately from the rest of the structure can be turned into a partition.

Photo Frame: When your IQ Panel 2 Plus is not in use you can program the panel to turn into a customizable photo frame. Inside the panel’s settings you can choose whether you want photos or a weather clock or if you want the panel to turn itself off automatically in the evenings, and more.

Schedule Scenes: Allows you to control multiple devices with the click of a single button right from your IQ Panel 2 Plus touchscreen (Powered by Alarm.com). Each option is a multi-device command that coordinates different smart devices to accomplish a complete task.

User Types: You can add up to 242 users to the IQ Panel 2 Plus system, each with a custom name and access level that you allow. There are three levels you can program for staring with the top “master” level allows the user to access panel functions, camera and system settings. Next, the “user” level allows access to panel functions, camera, but NOT system settings. Lastly, the “guest” level is used to give arm and disarm access to those users who will use the panel on a temporary basis. By creating individual users, you can set up custom text notifications when they access or use your system, keeping you connected no matter where you are.

Wellness: Allows quick and easy access to the emergency panic for senior care directly on your IQ Panel 2 Plus touchscreen (Powered by Alarm.com). This “wellness” page replaces the Security and Arming page as the default, home page to simplify use and access to help. The check in and check out feature notifies you when assisted living caregivers arrive and leave so that you have the peace of mind knowing that your loved one is getting the care they need and deserve.

NextAlarm is Cancelling Monitoring Services via Ethernet/Internet Path

If you are currently a monitored NextAlarm customer with IP service and wish to continue alarm monitoring services we recommend going with the M2M wireless alarm communicator as an alternative as it will be hosted on either the AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile LTE cellular towers.

The M2M alarm communicator itself is only around $70 and holds a no-term contract monthly alarm monitoring rate of $13/month. With the M2M wireless alarm communicator, GeoArm can apply this to just about any alarm system that has been used with NextAlarm.

Cellular alarm communicators are a much more reliable means of communicating alarm signals from your alarm system back to the central alarm monitoring station.

The reason why is if an intruder before breaking in cuts your power meter box or internet lines, your alarm system will still be able to transmit signals to the receivers unlike the internet “aka IP” communications.

The M2M wireless alarm communicator is amazing for anyone looking to have very inexpensive alarm monitoring services for both home and business security.

It has come to our attention from callers that after many years of providing alarm monitoring service via the internet, NextAlarm will be canceling this service.

The last day they will provide alarm signal delivery via the internet will be June 30, 2020. They also stated that if you have pre-paid for service that extends past June 30, 2020, NextAlarm must be notified by May 29, 2020, and they will arrange for a refund of any months after June 2020.

NextAlarm in their email to customers didn’t clearly state their intentions with current cellular-based customers, but have no fear because GeoArm is here.

If you have any questions feel free to contact us.

Alarm.com Announces it will still support GE Interlogix!

As you all know United Technologies announced that Interlogix after all these years is closing their doors at the end of 2019. Alarm.com a few days later sent us a confirmation email that they would still provide Alarm.com compatible communications devices for monitoring abilities. In addition, Alarm.com announced it will continue to support the product lines for dealer tech support.

This is big news for anyone who has an Interlogix such as a Concord, NX Series or Simon security system. This news confirms that the Interlogix systems life span has been extended at least up until LTE cellular modules are phased out. After LTE cellular communicators are phased out well down the line we are not sure what will happen from there or what communication modules will support the monitoring of Interlogix!

What we do know is that end-users that have Interlogix will still be able to enjoy Alarm.com monitoring services, remote app control with the Alarm.com interactive app, Z-Wave home automation control, Amazon Alexa / Google Home / Apple Siri voice control and Alarm.com compatible IP security camera abilities for quite some time.

Here is an example email that Alarm.com is sending to its dealer’s.

United Technologies recently announced that they are winding down their Interlogix security business in the U.S. and Canada, but they will continue to manufacture and sell through the end of the year.

Alarm.com will continue to support all Interlogix panels currently installed, as well as all new installations going forward. Our services will continue to work seamlessly on the lineup of Interlogix panels we support, now and into the future. Also, we will continue to manufacture Interlogix LTE upgrade modules.
