Verizon CDMA Cellular Sunset Coming Soon for Security Industry

The Verizon CDMA nationwide wireless cellular network shutdown is starting soon!

The Verizon® CDMA Network will be shut down permanently starting December 31st, 2022.

Qolsys IQ4 Hub Panel Has Been Released by GeoArm

The Qolsys IQ4 Hub (from Johnson Controls) all-in-one wireless 7″ touchscreen smart security system with automation has been released to the DIY security marketplace. The affordable IQ4 Hub contains a built-in Alarm.com dual-path wifi/cellular Verizon LTE communicator and either a S-Line/legacy 319.5 MHz wireless receiver, legacy 345 MHz, legacy 433 MHz or PowerG receiver and all the bells and whistles.

The IQ4 Hub also includes other key features such as; Bluetooth, Z-Wave 800-Series automation module, smash and grab reporting. It features a SmartMount system, all internal antennas and an easy on-screen installation wizard. With a built-in front speaker the IQ4 Hub allows for 85dB piezo audible siren to alert nearby individuals of an alarm initiating event. GeoArm and Resideo have partnered with CellBounce to help address the AT&T 3G Sunset on 2/22/2022. The security industry is facing a major challenge: As cellular carriers begin to retire their 3G networks, existing AT&T 3G GSM Communicators will no longer be able to connect to a carrier network. CellBounce has developed technology, specifically designed to keep Resideo AlarmNet 3G GSM devices connected beyond the current 3G sunset of 2/22/22.

The CellBounce (model number: CB34UDRES01A) provides a seamless AT&T 3G GSM to LTE connection between an existing Resideo AT&T 3G GSM Communicator and AT&T LTE network. CellBounce is simple to activate and can be installed easily by the end-user by plugging it into an electrical outlet within 25 feet of their current communicator. CellBounce eliminates the need for a truck roll / technician to visit each site to upgrade or modify the existing device. When installed CellBounce establishes a conversion of the existing Resideo AT&T 3G GSM Communicator signals on the new LTE service. GeoArm Adds the Qolsys IQ Panel 4 Wireless Security System Kits

Releasing the all-new Qolsys IQ Panel 4 touchscreen alarm controller with built-in Alarm.com cellular LTE radio, Bluetooth, Front Camera, PowerG, Wi-Fi and Z-Wave Plus wireless receivers by Johnson Controls International (aka “Tyco”).

GeoArm, a pioneer in the DIY security market, has released the much anticipated Qolsys IQ Panel 4 wireless touchscreen alarm controller. This all-new control panel can be remotely controlled by the end user via the Alarm.com app, which integrates smart automation and video surveillance, for a highly customized small business and home security solution.

An elegant 7″ HD touchscreen is the focal point for the IQ Panel 4 that contains an upgraded 8-megapixel front loaded camera, with a 120° wide-angle lens, that makes use of Flex-Tilt to adjust the camera angle for peek in and alarm videos. “We are excited to be one of the first DIY alarm companies to offer the next generation of the IQ Panel in North America,” says Joe Rosenthal, President of GeoArm.
