Verizon CDMA Cellular Sunset Coming Soon for Security Industry

The Verizon CDMA nationwide wireless cellular network shutdown is starting soon!

The Verizon® CDMA Network will be shut down permanently starting December 31st, 2022.

This will be a nationwide event which should be completed within the first week of 2023. Customers with Verizon CDMA communicators may begin to see communication failures and panel keypad faults as early as 11/21/22.

The all-new Alarm.com Smart Thermostat HD with color touchscreen display has been released to the DIY security market at GeoArm.

The Alarm.com ADC-T40K-HD (black display) and ADC-T40K-HD-W (white display) are an aesthetically pleasing smart thermostat that offers a sleek, color touchscreen display for an engaging customer experience that delivers the next-level of comfort and control. With mechanical wire detection, an easy setup wizard, and local configuration, the Smart Thermostat HD makes installation a breeze. The Smart Thermostat HD can also monitor the health of the heating and cooling system, deliver monthly performance reports, and even alert you to potential HVAC issues right on its display.

The Alarm.com Smart Thermostat is easy to wall-mount and the touchscreen is simple to use.

When installing, please keep in mind that the Smart Thermostat HD requires 24 VAC power. There is no option for a battery-powered mode. Power is supplied via a common wire, typically identified as C. Mount on an inside wall, approximately 5 ft. (1.5 m) above the floor in a frequently used room. Avoid areas that are exposed to large temperature variances, such as: direct sunlight, near an AC unit, above or below auxiliary heat and air vents, and drafts from windows or exterior doors.

Geo-Services is now called “Alarm.com Places”

Alarm.com officially changed the naming of their “Geo-Services” to be called “Alarm.com Places”.

Alarm.com has relaunched their “Geo-Services” to be coined as Alarm.com Places moving forward for smart business and home security.

Starting back in the October 2021, the add-on Alarm.com Places feature was officially renamed and has been available to all GeoArm customers. By upgrading to having Alarm.com Places, the user can add and manage their geo-fenced locations from the mobile app* as well as on the website.

From the website, customers can easily create automation rules and reminders to:

  • Turn on lights
  • Open or close garage doors
  • Arm panels
  • Adjust thermostats

*Rules can be created only on the customer website.

Users can leverage this cool Alarm.com interactive feature to better control their smart devices from when they first leave to when they return back to the property. This control includes the lights, switches, thermostats, garage openers, and more!
