The AlarmNet network experienced a brief 12 hours of downtime between 3/13/22 to 3/14/22.
Resideo’s AlarmNet and Total Connect 2.0 interactive app services experienced a global outage on 3/13/22 starting at approximately 9 PM ET.
Some conspiracy theorists out there thought it was a ransomware attack. Well it turns out that you can now take a deep breath, as Resideo strongly denied those claims. It seems the reason for the outage is quite embarrassingly simple, it had to do with their environmental system.
Total Connect 2.0 has now been fully restored within about 12 hours or so of it initially going down. GeoArm has confirmed at approximately 2:30 PM ET (on 3/14/22) that both Apple iOS and Android devices are now able to successfully connect again. Resideo has confirmed that Total Connect 2.0 is restored as well.
For most GeoArm customers, you do not need to do anything at all. However, we have found upon restoral for some panels, such as the LYNX Touch WiFi that they are not successfully reconnecting. If applicable, in most cases all you have to do is reboot the panel. If this does not work than go back through the WiFi settings and rejoin your network.
GeoArm and Resideo Partner with CellBounce for AT&T 3G-to-LTE Customer Conversions.
GeoArm and Resideo have partnered with CellBounce to help address the AT&T 3G Sunset on 2/22/2022. The security industry is facing a major challenge: As cellular carriers begin to retire their 3G networks, existing AT&T 3G GSM Communicators will no longer be able to connect to a carrier network. CellBounce has developed technology, specifically designed to keep Resideo AlarmNet 3G GSM devices connected beyond the current 3G sunset of 2/22/22.
The CellBounce (model number: CB34UDRES01A) provides a seamless AT&T 3G GSM to LTE connection between an existing Resideo AT&T 3G GSM Communicator and AT&T LTE network. CellBounce is simple to activate and can be installed easily by the end-user by plugging it into an electrical outlet within 25 feet of their current communicator. CellBounce eliminates the need for a truck roll / technician to visit each site to upgrade or modify the existing device. When installed CellBounce establishes a conversion of the existing Resideo AT&T 3G GSM Communicator signals on the new LTE service. Service functionality of the AT&T network is maintained with the CellBounce unit.
Product Features:
Plug-and-play 3G to LTE conversion
Keep AT&T 3G devices connected past the sunset
Designed for quick and easy end-user installation
Easy provisioning via AlarmNet 360™
No truck roll needed
Doesn’t require technicians entering homes and business

Releasing the all-new Qolsys IQ Panel 4 touchscreen alarm controller with built-in Alarm.com cellular LTE radio, Bluetooth, Front Camera, PowerG, Wi-Fi and Z-Wave Plus wireless receivers by Johnson Controls International (aka “Tyco”).
GeoArm, a pioneer in the DIY security market, has released the much anticipated Qolsys IQ Panel 4 wireless touchscreen alarm controller. This all-new control panel can be remotely controlled by the end user via the Alarm.com app, which integrates smart automation and video surveillance, for a highly customized small business and home security solution.
An elegant 7″ HD touchscreen is the focal point for the IQ Panel 4 that contains an upgraded 8-megapixel front loaded camera, with a 120° wide-angle lens, that makes use of Flex-Tilt to adjust the camera angle for peek in and alarm videos. “We are excited to be one of the first DIY alarm companies to offer the next generation of the IQ Panel in North America,” says Joe Rosenthal, President of GeoArm. Some other noteworthy IQ Panel 4 product features include; Bluetooth disarming, a built-in glass break detector, photo frame, live view/answer, and disarm photos/videos functionality.
With an improved range on every wireless radio, the IQ Panel 4 incorporates not only a Z-Wave Plus 700-Series and PowerG encrypted receiver, but also comes with either a 319.5 MHz, 345 MHz or 433 MHz legacy receiver. By having backwards legacy frequency compatibility, the user is able to salvage and re-use existing 2GIG, DSC, Honeywell Home or GE Interlogix wireless alarm sensors. “DIYers can swap out their older panel, use existing wireless sensors, and seamlessly make the upgrade to the smarter IQ4 security platform in minutes,” says Rafael Alvarez, Technology Manager of GeoArm. Much like its predecessor the IQ Panel 2 Plus, which was launched in 2018, the IQ Panel 4 has evolved into a simple do-it-yourself installation that does not require a professional.
The IQ Panel 4 is much more than just security, it is a complete smart alarm system running the fastest 8-core Qualcomm IoT processor yet. The all-in-one panel comes equipped with a fully redundant dual-path Alarm.com communicator, that is designed to send signals over Wi-Fi and/or cellular AT&T/Telus/Verizon LTE radio networks. For remote monitoring of the home or business, the IQ Panel 4 blends with the Alarm.com interactive app to offer all of its award-winning services throughout the United States and Canada.
QuadSound speakers are built into every panel for the purpose of delivering the best in audio. Better yet, user’s can also connect the panel to the IQ Base table stand subwoofer to enhance the music streaming over Bluetooth experience. By focusing on adding the most cutting-edge IoT solutions available, Qolsys and its newly manufactured IQ Panel 4 differentiates itself as the premium smart security system in 2022 and beyond.
Introducing the all new dual-path alarm communicator that supports either AT&T or Verizon Cellular LTE, Ethernet or optional Wi-Fi/Z-Wave automation control by Resideo Technologies, Inc.
GeoArm, a fast-growing, do-it-yourself brand in smart home and business security, announced today the release of the all-new Resideo LTEM-P dual-path alarm communicators.
Together, GeoArm and Resideo (formerly “Honeywell Home”) are adding more alternative technologies for switching away from the traditional overpriced alarm company. With universal compatibility, the do-it-yourselfer can easily add the newly released LTEM-P communicator into most existing security systems. Whether a consumer has a DSC PowerSeries, Honeywell Home VISTA-Series, GE Interlogix NetworX NX-Series, or other burglary intrusion control panel that supports Contact ID, this brand new Resideo communicator is a great choice for low-cost, nationwide, central station alarm monitoring services provided by GeoArm.
“We are excited to offer the new Resideo product line of LTEM-P universal communicators into our brand’s portfolio of products and services that our customers have to choose from in advance of the cellular radio sunset dates set to take place in the first quarter of 2022,” said Steve Rosenthal, General Manager of GeoArm. With the impending sunset of the cellular 3G/4G AT&T network taking effect in the month of February 2022, and the cellular 3G/4G Verizon network slated to shutdown sometime later in 2022, it was important for users to find a low-priced, cellular 5G LTE radio that offered maximum network longevity.
With an LTE Cat M1 cellular alarm communicator built into the module for use over either the AT&T or Verizon 4G/5G network, this radio was constructed for the strongest signal penetration in the most challenging of installation environments. “Because the Resideo LTEM-P comes with its own plug-in power supply and doesn’t require power directly from the panel, it is easy to install in just minutes,” said Drew Davis, Operations Manager of GeoArm. The equipment was made by Resideo for a DIY-friendly installation and only requires a screwdriver in order to land just two wires on the takeover circuit board’s dialer, keybus or ECP connector.
Having an advanced modular design, the LTEM-P was engineered to be compatible with future control panels and cellular services that have still yet to come. For customers wanting Wi-Fi and/or Z-Wave automation control, they can add the PROWIFIZW communications module at any time. Resideo offers secure web-based services that enable users to remotely monitor and control the VISTA-Series hardwired security systems. These web services enable users to monitor and control the security system using their Android or iOS smartphone, receive email notifications of system events, and receive event confirmations using the Total Connect 2.0 interactive monitoring app.
GeoArm and M2M partner for discount PRO and DIY alarm monitoring services.
GeoArm, a leading provider of no-term contract security, automation and smart home solutions serving residential and business customers in the United States, today announced the addition of M2M products and services to its website offerings.
Together, GeoArm and M2M are paving the path to switch away from the traditional overpriced alarm company. With universal compatibility, the do-it-yourselfer can easily add the M2M alarm communicator into most commercial fire alarm and burglary intrusion panels already installed in existing homes and businesses. Whether a consumer has a DSC PowerSeries, Honeywell Home VISTA-Series, GE Interlogix NetworX NX-Series or other takeover control panel that supports Contact ID, SIA and Pulse 4+2, the M2M line of alarm communicators are a great choice for low-cost nationwide alarm monitoring.
“We are thrilled to add M2M solutions into our brand’s portfolio of products and services that our customers have to choose from in advance of the cellular radio sunset dates set to take place in the first quarter of 2022,” said Joe Rosenthal, President and CEO of GeoArm. With the impending sunset of cellular 3G/4G AT&T network beginning first in the month of February 2022, and the cellular 3G/4G Verizon network slated to shutdown later next year in Dec. 31, 2022, it was important for users to find a low-priced, future proof, cellular 5G LTE module that offered maximum network longevity.
The M2M product line of alarm communicators can be installed in a matter of minutes by simply landing just two-wires on the circuit board and anyone can do it. “Because these alarm communicators are low-voltage and run off the control panel’s battery, there is absolutely no need to hire an expensive professional to get them hooked up,” said Rafael Alvarez, Technical Manager of GeoArm. Just sit back and watch the appropriate how to installation video found on GeoArm’s YouTube page, that illustrates the steps to follow that will make the M2M communicator setup a breeze.
Best of all the M2M’s RControl app gives GeoArm customers the ability to interact with their compatible burglar intrusion panel for no additional monthly charge. The end user can remotely download the RControl app on any Android or iOS device to arm/disarm the security system in “away mode” when they are not home during the day, and also have the ability to arm it in “stay mode” when they are home at night. The app allows for real-time push and email notifications for multiple end users and devices per account so that all family members and business managers are on guard. Also, there is an admin portal that allows for 24/7 device management and real-time status monitoring of all accounts with 12 months of event history stored for use at a later time. To ensure the M2M communicator works when it matters most, the modules are designed with supervised connectivity that includes polling in 10 minute intervals for exceptional reliability.
Once installed into an existing compatible alarm system, the M2M communicator will transmit alarm systems data to either GeoArm’s central station and/or directly to the end user in the event of an alarm initiating event. With both do-it-yourself and professionally trained operator alarm monitoring services offered by GeoArm starting at $8 a month for burglary intrusion security systems, and $30 a month for commercial fire alarm systems, homes and businesses can finally lower that costly alarm bill and start enjoying the monthly savings.
The all-new Alarm.com WiFi 1080p touchless video doorbell camera is now available in two more additional aesthetically pleasing colors (silver and bronze finish) at GeoArm Security.

With Two-Way Audio and a full portrait viewing in the app, the doorbell makes it easier than ever to see and speak with visitors.

It enables homeowners the ability to answer the door and speak to visitors via two-way audio, right from the Alarm.com interactive monitoring app.

To ensure maximum login security, GeoArm’s Alarm.com subscribers will be required to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Two-Factor Authentication requires the entry of an additional code at login, providing an extra layer of protection if passwords are compromised.
At the end of August, subscribers will be prompted to set up 2FA and verify their phone, tablet, or laptop as a trusted device when they log in to the mobile app or customer website. They can choose to receive 2FA verification codes via e-mail, SMS, or authenticator app. This update will roll out gradually.
Please note that 2FA can only be associated with one account, so creating secondary logins per user is recommended to provide the best experience for all users during their first login.
AT&T Sunset: AT&T plans to end service on its 3G wireless networks in February 2022. Any existing 3G/4G communicators that are currently registered are expected to communicate and be supported by AlarmNet through February 2022 under Resideo’s agreement with AT&T. If you cancel a registered/billable 3G/4G account on or after June 26, 2019, you cannot reactivate the 3G/4G communicator.
LTE Radio portfolio: Resideo (aka “Honeywell Home“) has expanded its communicator portfolio to include LTE radios, which provides a transition to new cellular technology, and offers maximum network longevity.
