GeoArm Security has released the IQ5 Family: a powerful lineup of smart security system control panels designed to transform how homes and businesses stay protected. Featuring the IQ Panel 5, IQ5 Hub, and IQ5 NS, this all-new platform delivers unmatched performance, deeper smart home integration, and future-ready connectivity.

The IQ Panel 5 family represents the next generation of smart security panels from IQ (formerly Qolsys), built on a powerful Qualcomm DragonWing™ quad-core processor running Android 14 for fast performance, smooth operation, and a long lifecycle of updates and new features.

It is being reported that GeoArm Security customers, powered by Alarm.com, will soon be able to view a clear, at-a-glance summary of what happened before, during, and after an alarm, right from the Home dashboard or Activity timeline.

We’re excited to announce Alarm Recap, a new app feature that provides customers with a helpful at-a-glance summary when an alarm takes place at their home or business.

Viewable from the Home dashboard shortly after the alarm, or by tapping the Alarm event in the Activity timeline, Alarm Recap helps customers quickly understand what happened leading up to, during, and after a recent alarm.

Simple to use, just Tap “Activity” and view the all-new Alarm Recap feature in action.

With Alarm Recap, GeoArm customers can:

  • Get a condensed snapshot of key information like what triggered the alarm and who disarmed the system
  • See relevant video clips, system activity, and monitoring station events in one place
  • Better understand how they can minimize false alarms and feel more prepared for future alarms

This feature will be rolled out to customers in the app over the next few weeks. They must have the mobile app version 5.9.7+ for iOS or 5.7.6+ for Android.

Re-Introducing Alarm.com’s Android Auto integration for a unified car-to-home experience.

Alarm.com successfully rolled out a new feature, called “Android Auto”, to GeoArm’s monitored customers early this year. This new feature empowers Android users with a seamless connection to ‍Alarm‍.com‍ smart home and security controls right on their car display.

Android Auto provides a simple and safer-to-use interface that helps customers drive with fewer distractions so they can be focused on the road ahead while still keeping tabs at home.

  • Run an Away Scene for a simplified routine when on the go
  • Remotely open and close garage doors, plus see the status right on the screen

With Android Auto, customers can now bring ‍Alarm.‍com‍ along for the ride for a unified car-to-home experience. To use Android Auto on their car display, customers will need an Android Auto compatible vehicle or aftermarket stereo, an Android phone running 6 or higher, and the Android Auto app.

Alarm.com End-of-Support Notice for GeoArm Voice Notification Customers

Alarm.com End-of-Support Notice for Voice Notifications Services on Alarms and Non-Alarms.

Alarm.‍com‍ will be ending support of the Voice Notifications service package add-on in ‍November ‍2023‍ due to limited usage of this feature.

What were Voice Notifications (for Alarms)? An Alarm.com security solution that allows homeowners to receive real-time spoken alerts about alarm events on their property. When an alarm is triggered, the Alarm.com system can send an automated voice notification to the homeowner’s designated phone number, informing them of the type of alarm and the location of the event. This provides homeowners with immediate awareness of potential security breaches, so they can take the necessary action to protect their property and family.

What were Voice Notifications (for Non-Alarms)? An Alarm.com security solution that allows homeowners to receive voice notifications for various non-alarm events, such as when a door is left open, when the temperature in the house is too high or low, or when a light is turned on or off. These notifications help homeowners stay informed about important events in their home and can be customized to their preferences. With Alarm.com’s non-alarm voice notifications, homeowners can also receive alerts for events like the arrival of a package, when a visitor arrives, or when someone turns on the stove or oven. The possibilities for these types of voice notifications are endless and can be tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual homeowner.

Once the feature is turned off, the “Voice Notifications for Alarms” and “Voice Notifications for Non-Alarms” add-ons will no longer be available for selection for users and will be removed from all existing GeoArm accounts.

We recommend that GeoArm customers who want to receive automated notifications subscribe to email or push notifications. And, keep in mind that our central station monitoring services are the preferred solution for customers who want to be notified via a landline phone number.
